Overview
The Oconto Park and Recreation Department has the responsibility of providing recreational and park services throughout the city. The department provides a wide range of services, programs and facilities to strengthen and enhance the quality of life for city residents. These services include programs and events for youth and adults, aquatic programs, park facilities, reservations, and special event programs.

The Park and Recreation Department accomplishes this by offering a wide variety of lifelong programs and services to all ages and abilities, while providing safe, aesthetic park facilities and open spaces, and being involved in the community.”
How to register for a Recreation Program

Participants looking to sign up for a Park and Recreation program must fill out a program registration form and have full payment before the posted registration deadline.

Recreation payment can be made one of three ways:

1. Mail-in form with check or cash to: City of Oconto Attn: Park and Rec. Dept. , 1210 Main St. Oconto WI, 54153

2. Office walk-in at City Hall, 1210 Main St. Oconto WI, 54153. Fill out form and pay with check or cash

3. Sign -up at the Activity Registration Night at the Youth Center. Fill out form and pay with check or cash

To check out which program you would like to sign yourself, family or child up for, stop by City Hall and pick up a hard copy of one of the seasonal recreational guides or download one on the city webpage. The Park and Recreation Department has many programs to choose from. So don't wait and sign up for one today!

Services
The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for maintaining approximately 120 acres of parkland, and 5 miles of recreation trail. The Parks and Recreation Department also maintains city sports and athletic facilities, including softball and baseball fields, football fields, soccer fields, outdoor ice rinks, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. In addition, the Parks and Recreation Department also oversees the Campground, Harbor and Pool.

Resources
The Parks and Recreation Department provides Sports rentals for citizens and visitors which include discs for disc golf, volleyballs, horseshoes and etc. Most of the items can be rented at Holtwood Campground during open hours.
