Overview
The Oconto Park and Recreation Department has the responsibility of providing recreational and park services throughout the city. The department provides a wide range of services, programs and facilities to strengthen and enhance the quality of life for city residents. These services include programs and events for youth and adults, aquatic programs, park facilities, reservations, and special event programs.

Mission
“The mission of the Oconto Park & Recreation Department is to create a healthy, vibrant community for all through people, parks, programs and preservation. The Park and Recreation Department accomplishes this by offering a wide variety of lifelong programs and services to all ages and abilities, while providing safe, aesthetic park facilities and open spaces, and being involved in the community.”

Services
The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for maintaining approximately 120 acres of parkland, and 5 miles of recreation trail. The Parks and Recreation Department also maintains city sports and athletic facilities, including softball and baseball fields, football fields, soccer fields, outdoor ice rinks, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. In addition, the Parks and Recreation Department also oversees the Campground, Harbor and Pool.

Resources
The Parks and Recreation Department provides Sports rentals for citizens and visitors which include discs for disc golf, volleyballs, horseshoes and etc. Most of the items can be rented at Holtwood Campground during open hours.
