2017 Winterfest on Porter – February 11, 2017
The Oconto Parks & Recreation Department invites everyone to attend the 7th Annual Oconto Winterfest on Saturday, February 11 at the Oconto Legion Golf Club from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This fun-filled event has many fun activities such as Chair Ski Races, Bicycle Toss, The Great Ham Put, Turkey Bowling, Willburger Throw, Bucket Golf, Dog Sweater Contest (at 1 p.m.), Snow Rides on the Course and the Beanbag Toss. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each activity!
Inside the club house, the 7th Annual Northwoods Chili Cook-Off will be sponsored as a fund-raiser for the proposed Oconto Bike and Skate Park. Bring your favorite chili to the Oconto Golf Club by 10:30 a.m. on the day of the event and enter the Cook-Off for a chance to win a cash prize of $100, $50 or $25. All-you-can-eat Chili will be sold for $6 per bowl.
You can also submit your entry for the Winterfest Logo Contest inside the club house and a FREE raffle will follow after 3:00 p.m.

2017 Candlelight Hike – March 11, 2017
The Oconto Parks & Recreation Department wishes to announce that the annual Candlelight Hike will be held on Saturday, March 11 at Copper Culture State Park from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Free cookies, hot chocolate and bonfires will be provided during the hike to keep you warm and sustained! Please dress for the elements and bring a flashlight.
Last year, over 100 participants of all ages experienced this magical night under the stars! Come out and see for yourself how much… fun there is to be had at this great event!
If anyone wishes to assist with the setup for the hike, work will begin at 3:30 p.m. on the day of the hike at Copper Culture. Thank you!
