The City of Oconto is reminding residents and visitors the fishing ramp and causeway will be closed on Friday July 16th until 5:00 p.m. as contractors will be milling off the existing asphalt on Harbor Rd and the boat ramp area.
Oconto Breakwater Park fishing ramp access will also be closed next week starting at 5:00 a.m. Monday morning July 12th and will re-open Thursday morning July 15th. The causeway will remain closed until August 16th.

Due to construction by the State of Wisconsin, Copper Culture Way will be closed at the Highway 22 roundabout starting on July 7, 2021. There will be no access to Highways 22 or 41 from Copper Culture Way. Work should be completed by July 9.Due to this closure, Copper Culture museum will be closed on Wednesday, July 7 and Thursday, July 8.Questions regarding the construction project can be directed to Luke Hardinger, Project Engineer for the State of Wisconsin, at (715)323-1306.

The Harbor Road and Breakwater Park reconstruction project will begin on Friday, July 9, 2021. There will be NO access to the boat launch ramps or Splinter Causeway on Friday. Harbor Road will be open to residents and local businesses, but please be aware of construction vehicles. The road, launches and Causeway WILL be open for the weekend.

Beginning Monday, July 12, Splinter Causeway will be closed to all traffic until early August.
