Volunteers carry out 90% of the humanitarian work of the Red Cross. Whether helping one displaced family or
thousands, providing care and comfort to an ill or injured service member or veteran, or teaching others how to
respond in emergencies, it’s through the efforts of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things. The Red
Cross responds to an emergency every 8 minutes, and our vital work is only possible because of people like you.
Volunteers Urgently Needed for the Following Positions in Your Community:
Disaster Client Health Services
Licensed healthcare professionals needed to provide hands on care,
health assessments, education and guidance to clients.
Preferred Commitment: Locally – Monthly shift calendar available to
support local disaster responses. All volunteers are encouraged to sign
up for a minimum of one shift per month. Nationally – Minimum 2 week
commitment working 10- or 12-hour shifts.
Disaster Client Mental Health Services
Licensed mental health professionals are needed to support individuals
and families who have been impacted by disaster and provide support
to other volunteers.
Preferred Commitment: Locally – Monthly shift calendar available to
support local disaster responses. All volunteers are encouraged to sign
up for a minimum of one shift per month. Nationally – Minimum 2 week
commitment working 10- or 12-hour shifts.
Disaster Spiritual Care
Providing disaster spiritual care support to individuals and families who
have been impacted by a disaster.
Preferred Commitment: Locally – Monthly shift calendar available to
support local disaster responses. All volunteers are encouraged to sign
up for a minimum of one shift per month. Nationally – Minimum 2 week
commitment working 10- or 12-hour shifts.
